Despite allowing five runs in the second inning, Calvert Hall F/S Baseball (2022) defeated Friends 16-6 on Friday.

Calvert Hall F/S Baseball (2022) got on the board in the first inning when Evan Stevers tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Calvert Hall took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Nico DeFelice scored an inside-the-park homerun on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, Austin Downs singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Finn Kafka grounded out, scoring one run, and Nick Jeppi singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Calvert Hall F/S Baseball (2022) notched five runs in the sixth inning.  Calvert Hall put the pressure on, lead by walks by Jake Bockstie and Timmy Youngbar, singles by Downs and Nick Palm, and by DeFelice. Kafka was the starting pitcher for the Cardinals. The pitcher allowed six hits and six runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven.
Calvert Hall F/S Baseball (2022) racked up 18 hits.  Downs, Jeppi, Jackson Harris, DeFelice, Stevers, and Palm each collected multiple hits.  Harris, Jeppi, and Downs each collected three hits to lead Calvert Hall F/S Baseball (2022).
