Cardinals pitchers combine for a shutout victory to start the year
Calvert Hall Junior Varsity Cardinals defeated Perry Hall High School JV 11-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Travis Peitz led Calvert Hall Junior Varsity Cardinals to victory by driving in four runs. Peitz went 3-for-3 at the plate. Peitz drove in runs on a triple in the first, a single in the first, and a double in the third.
In the first inning, Calvert Hall Junior Varsity Cardinals got their offense started when Peitz tripled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
One bright spot for Perry Hall High School JV was a single by Baily in the fourth inning.
Peter Bashore was on the mound for Calvert Hall Junior Varsity Cardinals. The righthander surrendered zero runs on zero hits over three innings, striking out four and walking one.
